A Few Options

Oh my goodness, I’m so frustrated right now! I just spent 20 minutes writing up a blog and my computer crashed! It crashes all of the time it seems. Bryan keeps assuring me he will take care of it. I’m not a very patient person as many know and Bryan and I are the king and queen of procrastination. This is not a good combination folks!

Okay now that I got that off my chest I’ll rewrite my original blog. Darnit, I have to start all over. Frustrating!! Deep breath, Lianne, it’s not a big deal. Just a major waste of time!

Before I start let me save what I have written so far. Nice tip Bryan taught me, but something I never remember until it’s too late! Smile

….So I met with the deans of two different departments at Old Dominion University last week. I was super excited about the prospect of going to graduate school at ODU which would allow us to stay here with the family and not have to change our lives so much. Also Bryan could get free tickets to the basketball games. Unfortunately the programs don’t offer what I want. I am going to apply for grad school at Gallaudet, this Saturday morning in fact. I have a friend who is also applying. He wants to fill out our applications together. That’s one way to make me actually take care of it, I guess. So the plan is apply. If I get accepted then I have a decision to make. Here are my options as I see them:

1.Go to Gallaudet (move family, etc) for up to 3 years.

2.Continue the interpreting program here. After I complete it, apply to Gallaudet. Work as an interpreter as I go through grad school.

3.Continue the interpreting program, work as a terp and 4 years down the road apply for the Deaf Studies program at Gallaudet so I can teach ASL as a foreign language in high school (my dream job).

Would love to hear some thoughts. Post a comment if you would like to share your opinion.
